“A Mind-Blowing Night of Recycled Fashion”

Saturday July 24th @ The Howlin’ Wolf
$15 at the door

Team WORN AGAIN has hosted seven fabulous years of re-purposed couture supporting various grass-roots organizations; 2010’s fundraiser will be our fourth in New Orleans, establishing this recycled fashion extravaganza as one of our city’s premier “socially conscious social events”. We are pleased to announce that WORN AGAIN nola4 will benefit the community-based arts and literature collective Press Street.

WORN AGAIN designers deconstruct the random recycled materials we give them to create innovative works of wearable art to rock the WORN AGAIN runway. The WORN AGAIN Patron Party precedes the fashion show and the After Party is kicked off by our infamous Recycled Dance Competition. WORN AGAIN nola4 is always a wonderful night of unique fashion, terrific prizes, limited edition merchandise and amazing music that true lovers of New Orleans creative culture will not want to miss.

WORN AGAIN nola4 + Sat July 24th + The Howlin Wolf
PATRON PARTY: 7:30–8:30p (Advance preview of the Top 10 WORN AGAIN designs/Silent Auction/hors d’oeuvres/DJ Kristen/VIP lounge) $50
WORN AGAIN: 9:30-10:30p (Fashion show with Emcee Chris Lane, DJ Brice Nice and awards ceremony) $15
AFTER PARTY: 11:00p (Recycled Dance Competition with DJ Voice and a special performance by Gris Gris Strut Dance Troupe)

WORN AGAIN nola4 will benefit Press Street, a New Orleans-based collective which promotes art and literature in the community through events, publications and arts education. In addition to publishing books and operating the non-profit gallery Antenna, Press Street produces the annual free, all-ages, 24 hour community arts extravaganza Draw-A-Thon, which last year drew 700 participants from across the region.

Bitter Ink
by Brian Zeigler & Raymond “Moose” Jackson

BBoth originally from Detroit, cousins Brian Zeigler and Raymond “Moose” Jackson began collaborating while Brian was harboring Moose in Vermont during Katrina evacuation. While their doodling proclivities may have made them rustbelt exiles from the rest of their autoworker family, together they produce seductive aphorisms of wit and weirdness that provoke, confound and celebrate a [...]

Revacuation
by Brad Benischek

A post-Katrina graphic novel of sorts by New Orleans artist Brad Benischek. Part fantasy, part social commentary, Revacuation is a visual response to the tragic and absurd events of year one as they unfolded. Benischek’s raw, immediate style, lush imagination and quirky humor make Revacuation a wholly original addition to the post-K cultural discourse. Beginning [...]
