Press Street is a New Orleans-based 501c3 literary and visual arts collective formed in 2005 to promote art and literature in the community through events, publications and arts education. Its projects include the gallery space Antenna, the annual 24 hour arts education extravaganza Draw-A-Thon, Room 220 - a blog dedicated to the literary life of New Orleans, free public film screenings, and the publication of books which focus on the relationship between the visual and literary arts.

Stephen Rea, author of Finn McCool’s Football Club, is following up the successful community writing workshop he hosted at Loyola this fall with … you guessed it: another community writing workshop!

Former student Rachael Henderson had this to say about the last session: “The quality of my writing coming out of the class is much better than it was going in. The advice and critiques I received from Stephen and my classmates has helped me immeasurably. …[the class] went far beyond my hopes and expectations.”

We’re Pregnant is a chapbook of short fiction by Room 220 editor Nathan C. Martin along with photography by Akasha Rabut, Sophie T. Lvoff, and Grissel Giuliano. The book contains three of Martin’s short stories—which explore in morbid fashion anxieties related to sex, disease, marriage, and childbirth—with images inspired by the stories from each of the photographers.
